Transform lives with Freedom of Mobility packages

At Circleg, our mission is to provide high-quality, affordable prosthetic care to enable long-term mobility for amputees in need. The Freedom of Mobility Package ensures that economically disadvantaged individuals can regain independence through access to holistic prosthetic care. By empowering these individuals, we enhance their economic participation and active role in society, driving systemic change that strengthens communities and promotes broader social and economic benefits.

The Case for Subsidies

Globally, 80% of the 48 million amputees reside in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), yet fewer than 10% have access to appropriate prosthetic care. Of the ones that do have access, many are often forced to rely on low quality and low performance components, which often fail within months of use. These substandard solutions limit mobility, lead to long-term health complications, and ultimately become more costly over time due to frequent repairs and replacements.

Impact

Providing lower limb prosthetics significantly improves mobility, independence, and social participation. Good quality prosthetics have been proven to greatly increase quality of life, physical activity and community engagement as well as income level and overall life expectancy. By ensuring accessibility, prosthetic solutions enhance individual well-being and promote economic and social inclusion. All of the beneficiaries that have benefitted from our FOM program so far reported large increases in their overall life satisfaction rating, ability to provide for themselves and ability to get around, among many others benefits, even only one week after provision.

Beneficiaries & Key Partners

We choose the beneficiaries of the program based on low-income assessment criteria together with our partners, to ensure help reaches those who need it most. Our network of prosthetic centers includes:

  • NewLife Orthopaedic Center, Mukono, Uganda

  • Limbs Orthopedics, Nairobi, Kenya

  • Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center, Moshi, Tanzania

  • Nsawam Orthopedic Center, Ghana

These centers play a crucial role in identifying beneficiaries and providing the necessary prosthetics and ongoing care. Prosthetists and Orthotists (P&Os) at these facilities have received comprehensive training through Circleg’s program, ensuring they are fully equipped to deliver high-quality, tailored prosthetic care that meets the unique needs of each individual.

Action Plan

For every beneficiary receiving a Freedom of Mobility package, we follow four key phases:

  • Phase 1: Identification and onboarding of beneficiaries

  • Phase 2: Provision of prosthetics with gait training

  • Phase 3: Follow-up care to ensure proper use

  • Phase 4: Monitoring and evaluation of project outcomes

Monitoring and Evaluation

We will closely monitor and incorporate feedback from beneficiaries and partners to drive continuous improvements. Key metrics such as mobility improvement, economic participation, and mental well-being will be monitored to evaluate the program’s overall impact.

Freedom of Mobility Packages provide transformative opportunities to empower amputees and create lasting social and economic change. Join us in making mobility accessible to all, and be part of a mission that changes lives. Reach out to sales@circleg.world now.
